Buddha Jayanti or the birthday of Lord Buddha falls on the full moon in Vaisakha (April-May).
Lord Buddha was the founder of the Buddhist religion and is said to be the ninth avatar of Vishnu.
It is believed that Gautama Buddha obtained Enlightenment and passed away (nirvana) on the same day. Buddha Jayanti is also known as Buddha Poormina, Vesak, Vaishaka and Buddha’s Birthday.
Lord Buddha’s life and Journey taught us to do right things to gain mastery over suffering. It is only after following this path one can reach the ultimate aim of Nirvana. Nirvana is the transcendental state of complete liberation.
Akshaya Tritiya, also known as "Akha Teej", is traditionally the birthday of Lord Parasurama, the sixth incarnation of Lord Vishnu. This holy day is celebrated among both Hindu and Jain.
